Assess yourself

Answer the question we have asked below and plot your scores on the graph that follows.

Using the whole range of numbers 1 to 16, give yourself a score for each of the words listed below. 16 is most like you, 1 is least like you. It is important that you think of the words as relative to each other rather than simply as words in their own right. So if, out of all the words listed, the one that is least like you is, for example, "energetic" then give that a score of 1. It doesn't mean you are never energetic, it simply means that out of all the words here, this characteristic is least like you. The word that is most like you will have a score of 16 and the others will all be ranked in order in between.

Enter your scores in the box next to the word. (Don't forget to be honest).

You can also use this profile to measure somebody else. However, if you do, you must bear in mind that the result will only be a representation of your perception of that individual. It may differ from their own perception but, if the result is one which you intend to use as a basis for considering how you work together with that individual, then the results will be valid for that purpose. It might be interesting to ask them to complete a profile giving their perception of you.

It cannot be over-emphasised that the profile suggested here is a very crude model designed to illustrate the concept of linking behavioural styles/patterns with change. It has not been tested nor validated in any way and is offered only as a hypothesis for development of a reliable model. However, it does illustrate the way in which the core characteristics of the DiSC model could be linked with the four core phases of the change cycle.
